Keep the Flame Burning: The Divine Persistence in Pursuing Your Dreams

Every now and then, we’ve all felt like we’re swimming through a fog of uncertainty, aren’t we? I remember an incredible tale about a courageous woman attempting to conquer the English Channel. As fatigue gripped her and the fog blurred her sight, she couldn’t see the shoreline. Despite assurances from her coach that she was almost there, she surrendered, climbing back into the safety of the boat. What a heartbreak it was when she realized how close she was to her destination. The lesson here is that the brink of surrender might be the dawn of our victory. The same goes for our dreams.

Isn’t it fascinating that we often stumble upon dreams that feel divinely planted within us? Just as God presented Joseph with his dreams, we too might be recipients of such God-given visions. These are the dreams that ignite passion within us, often aligning with our innate abilities to realize them. So, my dear friends, hold onto these dreams. Remember, if they magnify the glory of God, they are certainly His will.

Persistence, my friends, is key. I am reminded of my high school track days, where the 800-yard race was not won by the fastest but by the most patient. Launching off too swiftly, I exhausted myself prematurely and could only manage to take the 3rd position. What I learned is that it’s not about how swiftly you start, but about how steadfastly you persist. Perseverance is a testament to our faith and it’s what takes us to the finish line.

Now, talking about finish lines, the Apostle Paul knew something about it. Approaching the end of his journey, he proclaimed, “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:6-7). The magnificent prize awaiting him, and all who long for His appearance, was the crown of righteousness (2 Timothy 4:8). Imagine, my friends, the joy and wonder of reaching such a divine finish line. God has a glorious place prepared for us, beyond our wildest dreams.

So, don’t keep your dreams locked away in your heart. Share them, seek alignment with God’s will, and check them against the teachings of the Scriptures. If they resonate with these, hold onto them. Let your dreams be your compass and your faith be your fuel. And remember, let God take care of the rest. Keep the flame burning, dear friends, and chase your God-given dreams with a divine persistence.
