Baptist Relief Teams Prepare Feeding Sites for Gulf Communities

Baptist Press reporter Scott Barkley, in a report carried by the Biblical Recorder on October 9, described Send Relief and state Baptist disaster relief teams moving into place ahead of Hurricane Isaias. Feeding units were getting priority. Alabama's disaster relief director said preparations included capacity for as many as four feeding sites, and teams in several neighboring states were on alert or assigned support roles. The report stressed service to smaller rural communities. That was Friday's picture of preparations, not a report of completed relief, so conditions may look different this morning. Hot meals and clean water are faith with hands on it.
