The Reasons I Abandoned My 5-Year Plan
Discovering Purpose Beyond Our Own Plans.

The story of dropping a five-year plan serves as a reminder that life's unpredictability often leads to greater reliance on God’s purposes rather than our own plans. While making plans is a natural part of life, the Bible encourages believers to trust in God’s sovereignty. Proverbs 19:21 says, "Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand." This verse emphasizes that God's purposes will prevail, even when our own plans fall short.
When faced with unexpected changes or disappointments, turning to Scripture can provide guidance and reassurance. For example, Psalm 138:8 reminds us that "The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me," offering comfort in knowing that God is actively working in our lives.
Rather than clinging to our own visions of the future, we are called to live by faith, seeking God's guidance in our decisions and trusting Him to direct our paths. As we let go of our rigid plans, we make room for God's purposes to unfold, often leading to growth and blessings beyond what we could imagine.
To navigate life's uncertainties with confidence, commit your works to the Lord, allowing His Spirit to shape your plans. By aligning your heart with God's purposes, you can embrace the journey with hope and trust.
